I have been teaching kids about the iron rush story for over 30 years. I took my original A Century in Stone film into local schools back in 1990 and in those days I was often accompanied by one of the old miners.  In 2004, I began showing the the Mk.II edition on DVD and also taking kids on history hikes up Eston Hills. This has been very popular and effective in inspiring kids to take an interest in the subject. The resulting outpouring of work is proof of that…and the number of kids who come up to me many years later and tell me how much they loved doing it.
